"Companies in need of information and advice which help them to run their business better should not and need not have to carry the large costs of a finance department."

We have built a small and stable team to satisfy this mission statement.

Each member of the team is an expert in their field and their skills are delivered through the JAMES MAGEE interface.

We do not undertake audit work, but aim to provide a conventional range of finance-related services for business, including accounting, tax and payroll.

We can also advise on the most cost efficient use of computers in a small business as well as procuring hardware and software at competitive prices.

The emphasis is on maintaining close involvement with our clients throughout the year - and ensuring that good financial control allows the business to develop to its full potential.

Financial planning for the business is an important part of the service. We work with our clients to build good business plans - and to ensure that key issues of costing, pricing and budgetary control are properly understood.

We then work with the Board to review actual performance against plan in order to ensure that management decisions are taken with a full understanding of the financial implications.

Most of our clients need external finance. We enjoy working closely with banks and other providers of funds, including "business angels" and small venture capitalists.

We also have an excellent understanding of the OFEX market and have good links with specialist corporate financiers.

In many cases our service amounts to that of a part-time Finance Director. In others it is that of "Devil's Avocado" - the sceptical Non-Executive Director.

Because we choose not to undertake audit work, we are free to work for clients in any capacity.

.

Some of our most successful and enjoyable work is in companies where Brendan Magee formally sits on the Board of Directors.
